Phonics at SVP
When is phonics taught?
Nursery – children in Nursery engage in phonics activities throughout the day, both in focused activities, in the routines of the day and when working in the provision with adults.
Reception – children in Reception have their phonics direct teaching input at 9.10am each day
Crew 1 children in Key Stage 1 have their phonics direct teaching input at 11.20am each day
Crew 2 – children in Key Stage 1 have their phonics direct teaching input at 9.10am each day
What scheme do we use to teach phonics at SVP?
We are currently introducing Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised as our DFE approved Synthetic Phonics Scheme – watch this space for more information forthcoming soon.
